TAMAIA’S project is part of the genealogy of active women involved in the defence of freedom and the rights of women against patriarchal violence.
TAMAIA’S project is part of the genealogy of active women involved in the defence of freedom and the rights of women against patriarchal violence. The central idea that lies behind their task is to support women who ask for help in order to stop the violence cycle. Their recovery process is the main objective. Tamaia helps them to start an identifying and healing process of their suffering. They accompany them, in a singular and respectful way, on their route to freedom.
They are working to bring the real possibility for women to build a new life without violence after they have become conscious of the abuse they have lived through. This is their priority programme: Therapeutic care for abused Women (they give therapeutic support and specialized long lasting follow-up for women).
As a ”continuum“, Tamaia’s project is focused on raising public awareness in people who build our society in order to identify and eliminate traces of violent and abusing attitudes in their social behaviour. They promote individual and social models respectful of and committed to living without violence. In the same spirit and in parallel with therapeutic care for women, they have developed two training programmes and public awareness in order to contribute with their knowledge as a way of eradicating violence from our cultural context.
