The Barcelona English Choir is for anyone who enjoys singing in a fun and informal atmosphere. We sing a wide variety of repertoire – rock, pop, blues, gospel, folk and world music.
You don’t need to be able to read music and there is no audition!
The choir has around 250 members that rehearse in three different groups at different venues in Barcelona.
ALL GROUPS ARE NOW FULL! Please contact us to go on the waiting list.
Each spring is ended with a summer concert. In 2018 the venue was Razzmatazz, which was completely sold out. In the video you can see a short summary of the preparations for the concert and the songs that were performed. This year’s concert will be held at the same place and you will soon be able to buy tickets through our website.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at the University of Cambridge, Ed went on to become a choral director and music educator working with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
He has led projects in primary and secondary schools, prisons, homeless shelters and care homes – whilst working at The Sage Gateshead, an international centre for music and music education based in the North of England.
Since moving to Barcelona in 2011 Ed has continued to work with choirs, creating singing groups for English-language learners and the international community, and within schools, as well as becoming an accompanist for several Catalan vocal groups.
He has been singing and playing the piano for over twenty years, and has performed as a pianist and vocalist with many different professional and semi-professional ensembles in the UK and Spain.
